Benefits are available to full-time and permanent part-time employees (pro-rated) after successful completion of the 90 day introductory period to work at TMC. The following list is intended to provide an overview of benefits rather than the specifics of each offering. The benefits offered may change at any time.
Benefits include health and dental insurance at no cost to employees with additional insureds at a reasonable cost. Optional insurance is available through Aflac. A Flexible Spending Account for healthcare and Childcare Reimbursement accounts are available pre-tax.
Vacation, sick time and holidays are combined into one bank called Paid Time Off or PTO. PTO is accrued each pay period and is prorated for the hours worked and is dependent upon length of employment. The following are the maximum accrual rates:
- Year 1 – about 2.5 weeks by year end
- Year 2&3 – about 4.5 weeks by year end
- Year 4 – about 5.5 weeks by year end
- Year 5 and up – about 6.5 weeks by year end
At the first year anniversary, the employee receives 80hrs of PTO as a bonus.
TMC provides employees with an Extended Illness Bank or EIB which provides time off for employees for illnesses lasting longer than 3 days, outpatient procedures or hospital stays.
TMC employees are eligible for educational assistance up to $1500/year when authorized by their supervisor.
As a Special District, TMC is a government entity and as a result is part of the Colorado County Officials & Employees Retirement Assoc (CCOERA). At the first anniversay, the employee is requried to enroll and contribute 3% of their gross wage pre-tax to the fund each pay period which TMC matches. The employee’s account is fully vested at the beginning of the 6th year of employment. Also available is an optional 457 plan available on the date of hire.
TMC is a small employer and is therefore not mandated to provide Family Medical Leave to employees. However, after 12 months of employment an employee is eligible for 12 weeks leave related to illness or birth of family members.
