Telluride Foundation Community Grant Awarded to TMC Primary Care Clinic
Medical Services for those who do not have insurance will continue through the TMC Care Support Program due to continued support from the Telluride Foundation.
The Telluride Foundation Grant of $12,500 will help to offset the cost of providing health care through the Care Support Program developed in 2006 to meet the growing health care needs of the Telluride region.
Care Support offers medical services for the undeserved in the Primary Care Clinic. This program helps maintain a healthy population while ensuring that the TMC Trauma/Emergency Department makes use of community supported tax levy monies for true emergency visits. The Care Support Program provides medical care for qualified patients who would otherwise not seek non-emergent medical care due to lack of insurance or other financial restraints.
The Care Support Program helps to offset the high cost of healthcare for low to moderate-income residents and employees in the region. Through a sliding fee schedule the patient qualifies for one of four levels of reduced fees and patients are assured access to the same quality of healthcare, even those without any type of healthcare insurance.
