Jay Fletcher, MS
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF FINE WINE, SOUTHERN WINE AND SPIRITS OF COLORADO
Jay Fletcher is the Executive Director of Fine Wine and Master Sommelier for Southern Wine and Spirits of Colorado. He specializes in all aspects of the wine and restaurant industry, including fine wine sales, cellar appraisals, cellar management, educational lectures, restaurant staff training, specialty event planning and wine list construction.
Jay is a master level examiner as well as the Chairman of the Board for the Court of Master Sommeliers American chapter.
Mr. Fletcher is the French Wine Director and Bordeaux buyer for Southern Wine and Spirits in Colorado, he is an accredited Bordeaux Educator from the L’Ecole du Vin in Bordeaux, France as well as being a Commandeur d’Honneur from the Commanderie du Bontemps of the Medoc, Graves, Sauternes and Barsac.
Mr. Fletcher has worked in different aspects of the restaurant and wine industry for most of his life and has a solid practical knowledge of the operation and management systems involved with running a successful restaurant, wine program, and wholesale beverage operation. In the fall of 1996 Jay passed the prestigious Master Sommelier Exam in London, England, and became the 30th American to hold the title of Master Sommelier. Since then Jay has lectured and sat on panels at hundreds of wine events around the country including Disney’s Epcot Food and Wine Festival, Aspen Food and Wine Classic, Kapalua Wine Festival and Crystal Cruises Wine Tours.
Jay is the Cellar Master for the Guild of Sommeliers extensive wine collection and is in charge of selecting wines for charity dinners and educational functions as well as purchasing wines for the cellars long term integrity.
