July 29, 2016 (TELLURIDE, CO.) — Telluride Hospital District board members agreed today to appoint Dr. Robert Pinkert as the replacement for an open board seat during a regularly scheduled board meeting.
During Friday’s meeting board president Larry Mallard issued his immediate resignation with the news that he and his family will be relocating to Sun Valley, Idaho for a work assignment.
Dr. Pinkert has an extensive professional background in health care, with specific experience in planning and constructing medical facilities and 35 years in clinical practice. He was also on the recent Telluride Hospital District ballot, though the three open seats were awarded to incumbent board members. The hospital district board voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Pinkert during the meeting.
Mallard, who has been instrumental in guiding the district’s path towards the new facility planned for Mountain Village, has served on the board since 2011.
“I’ve enjoyed my time serving the community and also feel 100 percent confident that Dr.Pinkert will be an excellent addition to the medical center family,” said Mallard.
