Increasing Access to Primary Care
Our Telehealth program aims to increase patient access to primary care that is sustainable and high-quality through the use of a new telehealth modality via software application eClinicalWorks (eCW) called a Telehealth visit.
Telehealth visits involve the use of audio, video or other electronic communications to interact with you, to consult with your health care provider and/or to review your medical information for the purpose of diagnosis, therapy, follow up and/or education.
What to Expect During a Telehealth Visit
During your Telehealth visit, details of your medical history and personal health information may be discussed with other health professionals through the use of interactive video, audio, or telecommunications technology. Additionally, a physical examination of you may take place and video, audio and/or photo recordings may be taken.
The benefits of Telehealth visits include having access to medical specialists and additional medical information and education without having to travel outside of your local health care community or your home!
A potential outcome of a Telehealth visit is that due to your specific medical condition, or technical problems, a face-to-face consultation may still be necessary scheduled as a follow up. Additionally, in rare circumstances, security protocols could fail causing a breach of patient privacy.
The alternative to TeleVisit consultation is a face–to-face visit with a physician.
